Q1: What is SpamExtract?
A: SpamExtract is a program that works with Microsoft Outlook 2000, 2002/XP and 2003 accounts as well as Outlook Express for Windows 2000 and Windows XP. The program filters out your spam and junk e-mail automatically as it learns what you consider is spam.

Q2: How do I scan my e-mail for spam?
A: SpamExtract should automatically scan your e-mail when you first download and open your outlook/outlook express e-mail program. SpamExtract will automatically scan each incoming e-mail and flag it as good mail or spam.

Q3: Can I try SpamExtract for free to see if it works for me?
A: Yes, you can try SpamExtract's free 14 day trial by going to www.spamextract.com/download-spamfilter.php and click on the SpamExtract trial version download button.

Q4: How do I register for the SpamExtract?
A: To register SpamExtract for the pro version click on the "Register Now" button on your SpamExtract toolbar located in Outlook/Outlook Express.

Q5: Where are the spam e-mails going?
A: A folder is created upon installation of the SpamExtract program called SpamExtracted. As you get e-mail, the program will flag emails as spam, and put those emails in the SpamExtracted folder.

Q6: SpamExtract doesn't seem to be catching my spam. Why?
A: SpamExtract learns from you each time you use it. Training SpamExtract for the first few times you use it is important. You can do so by clicking on a specific e-mail and clicking the SPAM button if that e-mail is spam.

Q7: How do I delete the spam messages that are piling up in my SpamExtracted folder?
A: Open your SpamExtracted folder, and click the Ctrl+A buttons at the same time and then hit the delete button. Your spam should disappear and be deleted.

Q8: A good e-mail was flagged as spam. How do I correct this?
A: You can go to your SpamExtracted folder, click on the desired e-mail and click on the NOT SPAM button. This will add the sender’s e-mail address to your Friends list and make sure that no further e-mails from this person will be marked as spam.

Q9: Outlook seems to lock-up or hang when downloading mail.
A: There is a known issue where older versions of McAfee VirusScan will cause this. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version of McAfee VirusScan or disable e-mail scanning within McAfee VirusScan.

Q10: Why isn't the SpamExtract toolbar showing up anymore?
A: First, go to the View Menu, select Toolbars, and select "SpamExtract" if it is in that menu. If SpamExtract doesn't show up in that menu, then Outlook may have disabled it. Go to the Outlook Help menu, select "About", click "Disabled items", select "spamx_ol.dll" and press "Enable" to re-enable SpamExtract.

Q11: How can I scan my emails manually?
A: First, go to the SpamExtract toolbar, select SpamExtract -> Options -> E-mail options, then uncheck "Scan new email as it arrives" item and save your settings; if any new email arrives, it will be located in Inbox without being scanned; then click "Clean Folder/Mail"button in SpamExtract dropdown menu to scan your Inbox emails.
